Iuly 31, 2004 marks the 40th anniversary of the death of the legendary Jim Reeves
and the Internet Country Show commemorates the occasion with a Special Tribute Show.

Hosted by David Allan, the 45 minute show traces the Texas born singer’s career from the early, hardcore country sounds of his early Abbott and Fabor recordings to the
smooth, easy listening styling of his latter RCA work which firmly established him as a worldwide favourite, consolidating the Nashville Sound and opening up the doorways
for other country-pop “crossover” artists.

Among the titles featured on the show are I Love You Because, Mexican Joe, He’ll Have To Go, Yonder Comes A Sucker, Four Walls, Welcome To My World, Distant
Drums and Adios Amigo alongside several duets, recorded both when Reeves was alive (with Ginny Wright and Dottie West) and, thanks to the wizardry of studio
technology, posthumously (Patsy Cline). There is also a segment of the artist’s shortlived daily radio show, the title song of the singer’s only starring role in a feature film, Kimberley Jim and a musical tribute from the late Charlie Rich.

In presenting the show, CMA award winning broadcaster David Allan feels that he has come full circle as he was the first person to present a regular Jim Reeves show
on radio – back in the halcyon days of pirate radio on the Thames Estuary’s Radio 390.

“Back then Jim Reeves had only just left us and his records were topping the charts. Certainly he was the most requested artist as far as country and easy listening music
was concerned” says Allan. “What is amazing is that, although he’s no longer a chart singles artist, his albums still sell in substantial amounts and he remains much
requested both in the U.K. and many overseas countries. In some ways, it’s almost like he’s still living.”

In addition to the programme, the Internet Country Show is making available Jim Reeves product – including the new DVD release of Kimberley Jim – at competitive
prices and encouraging surfers to add their own personal thoughts on the website’s Message Board.

The programs on the Internet Country Show are co-ordinated and produced by Tony Byworth for Barry Ainsworth’s Freeway internet group. All musical content
strictly adheres to copyright and royalty regulations. The site was presented with a Golden Web Award at the beginning of this year in recognition of originality, content
and design.
