NEW JIM REEVES BOOK ON AMAZON.CO.UK MAY BE A DISAPOINTMENT TO FANS

On 29th of October 2010, Alphascript Publishing published a  paperback  with the title 'Jim Reeves: Country music, Pop music, Nashville sound, Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, Jim Reeves discography' by Frederic P. Miller (Editor), Agnes F. Vandome (Editor), John McBrewster (Editor). Price 25.

According to a Wikipedia article, Alphascript Publishing  is one of three imprints of VDM Publishing, which publish and sell collections of freely available Wikipedia articles as expensive printed-on-demand books. There have published 22.000(!) works by the same editors.

A buyer of the book reported :  'The front and back cover are nondescript. On the front  cover  there's  no photo of Reeves but the name Alphascript Publishing, a photo occupying third of page of 2 hands playing guitar, and the names of 3 editors, headed title 'Jim Reeves',  and in smaller print headings of 6 of the 11 Jim Reeves related articles, only 1 of which concerns Reeves - the 'Jim Reeves discography' which takes up pages 33 - 38. The back cover gives an 8 line summary of Reeves' life, noting the book is 'High quality content by Wikipedia articles'. The book  contains 11 articles.  The first on pages 1 - 6  concerns Jim Reeves with just one tiny photo. The other chapters about 'Country Music', 'Nashville Sound', 'Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum' , and 'Texas Country Music Hall Of Fame' .
