James
Reddiough has been writing about the 1963 Irish tour in Irish
periodicals for over a decade. Although 2 years short of the 50th
anniversary, he decided to publish a 25 page illustrated booklet.
Mr. Reddiough doesn't pretend to have written a complete, or error free
story about this tour. Mr. Reddiough wrote very little about the
parts of the tour that took Jim and the Blue Boys to Northern Ireland
and the US bases in England.
The book contains two rare pictures, one taken at the Pavesi Ballroom in Donegal, the other at the Press reception at Shannon, and a few reproductions from newspaper advertisements and press announcements. Larry Cunningham, the Irish singer who became famous for his tribute on Jim Reeves, wrote a Foreword.
The
book was launched to the public on September 25th in the town of
Castlebar, Ireland. The book can be bought for €5
at certain shops in County Mayo, Republic of
Ireland. We have a limited supply of the book on sale at
the fan club meeting on October 17. We'll have more copies in stock
soon. Anyone who wishes to order a copy, please write to us for
details.
